Policies and Attributions
These are my personal policies with regards to:
1. Quality: I strive to make sure that every piece I make meets high quality standards, but especially when it comes to woodwork, you never really know what lies just beneath the surface of the wood. When there are hidden knots, dark grains, or hidden dark patches in the wood that cause a piece to be slightly different, that's just the nature of wood. I see it is adding character. Please don't return an item just because of the grain; that's what makes wood so special.
2. Returns: If your item arrives and it is not what was ordered or is in terrible condition, I do offer a free 30-day return policy, and will either provide a replacement for damaged pieces, shop credit, or a refund at the customer's preference.
3. Order Fulfillment Timelines: Please be aware that this is a side-gig for me, not my full time job. It may take a couple days to fill your order, but I will always do my best to be as fast as possible.
4. Shipping: I offer free standard shipping anywhere in the Domestic United States for all orders over $100. Delivery times may vary according to your specific location. Please be patient: I think you'll find it's worth the wait. I do charge a $3 handling fee on most shipping orders, which covers the cost of the shipping container, the packing tape, shipping labels, and related expenses. (Sorry - but I'm trying to pay down my student loans, not go further into debt...)
5. Sustainability: I source my high-quality Baltic Birch wood from a source in the United States that purchases carbon credits and supports reforestation to help offset their operations, making them functionally carbon neutral. I believe that we have a responsibility to protect this planet, and so I try to honor the trees that were cut down to make my products by limiting waste, recycling as much as possible, and reusing when and where possible.
6. Custom Work: I do take on custom jobs, but I do so strictly at my own discretion. I make no promises with regards to being willing or able to take on any given custom project, but I try my best to accommodate when and where I can. So far, some of my custom orders have included special presentation pieces featuring meaningful images and symbols/messages for individuals, custom coasters featuring a vector images of individuals' homes, boxes for ammunition for a local gun range run by one of my neighbors, and several other special projects which I have been asked not to share.
As in therapy, confidentiality is an important concept when it comes to custom work, so I will only ever post or feature images of those custom projects for which the customer has given their express consent.
The price for any and all custom work will be determined in advance in direct discussion with me (by phone, text, or email), and will be agreed upon before work commences. Generally speaking, the price will be in direct proportion to the amount of creative time and effort it takes for me to design the piece, combined with the cost of the materials based on the size/thickness and amount of the wood desired. No refunds are allowed for custom pieces, and all Custom work sales are final. However, if your custom piece is badly damaged in transit, I will gladly replace it.
7. Intellectual Property: Many of my pieces draw inspiration or even content from multiple sources, and I do my best to attribute them, though it can often become confusing trying to remember what element of this or that piece I pulled from where. As a general rule, I use only free license elements or those that I have purchased a license for (such as a large number of elements and patterns from Mochi Printables). In addition, I used the free AI image generator from Kittl.com to create the face for my logo. If you believe I am using your work without attribution or a license, please contact me and I will do my best to fix the situation if it turns out that I am, in fact, misusing anyone else's IP. By the same token, I ask others to respect mine. Unless otherwise stated, assume that all rights are reserved.
8. Hateful Content: I absolutely refuse to create, post, sell, or disseminate any form of hate speech, prejudicial and hurtful stereotypes about other ethnic groups (I reserve the right to make fun of my own ethnic group to a limited extent), or any product that I believe would be intentionally cruel or hateful towards other class of people based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation/preference, lifestyle, or social/economic class. Please do not ask for any custom work that falls into this category. If you believe that I have inadvertently created such a product, please leave me a message identifying the product and explaining why/how it was offense or hurtful, and I will review the situation and determine if the product should be removed.
